Marisa Koch, accompanied by virtuosos of traditional musical instruments, invites all children to join them and discover their favourite traditional songs, which are hidden in the sounds of the 1,000 bells sewn onto this velvet quilt.
This was used by musicians during the previous century to hide the best known traditional game songs. This quilt was safeguarded for many years at the Benaki Museum. But one night last winter it was almost lost for good, when the dragon that lives at the bottom of the Museum well snatched it and tried to drag it down his well. So Mr. Angelos Delivorias, director of the Benaki Museum, entrusted the quilt with a thousand golden bells to Marisa Koch and to the children who will join her, in order to reveal this cultural treasure, whose value cannot be reckoned, and thus save it for all time.
