The topics to be treated by greek and international scientists :
a. the fact that shared parenting is emerging as the norm in both two-parent families and after separation/divorce;
b. the importance of responsibility over “rights”; and
c. the idea that shared parenting is the most effective tool to address the problem of PA as well as best addressing the needs and interests of children.
Among the invited scientists:
1. Jennifer Harman: Parental Alienation as a form of family violence .
The main focus would be on the behaviours of the alienator and impact on the target parent, with implications for policy and practice (including the need for a legal shared parenting presumption).
2. Edward Kruk: Parental Alienation as a form of emotional child abuse. The main focus would be on the behaviors of the alienating parent and impact on the child, with implications for policy and practice (including the need for a legal shared parenting presumption).
3. Vittorio Vezetti: The physical and mental health benefits of shared parenting on the parent and child; and the negative effects of PA on the physical and mental wellbeing of parents and children.
4. Malin Bergstrom: The impact of shared parenting on the wellbeing of children and parents in Sweden, and the effectiveness of shared parenting in the prevention of PA. "Limiting access: how violation of child custody orders impacts children and affects power dynamics in families."
